Australian Art and Photos road trip planned 17th September 2011

Yes that's right we are off on another road trip in two week to gather some more amazing photos. We will be traveling from Darwin down the Stuart Highway, through Katherine, Tenant Creek, Alice Springs, Coober Pedy, Flinders Ranges, Adelaide, Melbourne, outback NSW, coastal Queensland, outback Queensland, Mt Isa and back to Darwin just to name a few. Quick photo shoot Central Australia

A quick run down the flood damaged Stuart Highway to Alice Springs, washed out roads, rain and more rain, shades of the recent road trip. A sea of green grass greeted us upon arrival in Alice Springs. Water in the Todd River and flooded river beds provided great photo opportunities for our day trip to Glen Helen, Ormiston Gorge, Serpentine Gorge along the Namatjira Drive. The McDonnell Ranges providing a picturesque backdrop to the township of Alice Springs.

Leaving Coober Pedy 6am crossing into the Northern Territory

An early start to beat the heat of the day we leave Coober Pedy the Opal Capital of the World set in a rather dry, desolate and hostile environment. The sun slowly rises on the silent opal fields scattering this moon like landscape.

Turning north onto the Stuart Highway in 45 degrees heat

Leaving Adelaide in 45 degrees heat we meander our way through folding hills and lines of gum trees of the Clare Valley onto Woomera, Port Augusta turning right onto the Stuart Highway we make our way to Coober Pedy in the very hot Australian Heat of the day.
